Privacy policy

Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address, signup source, confirmation status, and the technical records needed to complete double opt-in and honor unsubscribe requests.

Requests and corrections. If you request a product, report an error, or contact us, we receive the information you submit and the page or product connected to the request. We do not ask for profile or demographic fields.

Service and analytics data. Our hosting and security providers may process basic request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and error logs. Our self-hosted Plausible service uses IP address and user agent transiently to create a daily rotating visitor identifier; the analytics database does not store the raw values. We use the resulting cookieless, aggregate analytics to understand page visits and outbound store clicks. We do not use advertising pixels, persistent visitor identifiers, or cross-site tracking cookies.

We use personal data only to operate and secure the service, send messages you explicitly requested, measure aggregate product demand, investigate data corrections, prevent abuse, and respond to you. Newsletter email is sent only after you confirm the subscription.

We use Supabase for application data, Resend for confirmation and newsletter email, Vercel for web hosting, and self-hosted Plausible Community Edition for aggregate analytics. These providers process data for us under their own security and privacy terms; we give them only what is needed for their role.

Outbound store links may contain an affiliate tag so a retailer or affiliate network can attribute the visit or purchase to us. Once you leave SaleVerdict, the retailer or network’s privacy policy governs its collection. Affiliate compensation never changes our prices, verdicts, or ranking.

We keep confirmed newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe. We keep requests, reports, and related correspondence only as long as needed to resolve them, protect the service, and preserve an accurate correction audit trail. Hosting and security logs follow the retention settings of the relevant provider. We delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed, unless applicable law requires us to retain it.

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your email. We may need to verify that the address belongs to you before acting on a request.

We use access controls and limit database permissions, but no internet service can promise absolute security. SaleVerdict is a general-audience shopping information service and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal data, contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
